Cowles and Clancy finally confront Ambrose inside a subway car or truck. Ambrose tells Clancy that he is dying and asks Clancy to shoot him. He wants him to acquire more than the job of mercy killing and warns him that Cowles might be killed if he will not shoot him.… and it was settled that Mr. Jones really should be sent for early each morning
